Lily is in the doggie Hospital and as of late last night, is very sick. On numerous occasions while sitting outside we've noticed Lily digging the dirt in the yard and sometimes eating it. Well apparently she has been eating more than we realize.
We had to rush her in to the Vet around 5pm last night where they treated her for a GI upset and we brought her home. Over the next 5 hours her condition went down hill and she was getting sicker and sicker. I will spare you the gross details but the 1 pile of puke contained a lot of sand. Poor thing had it coming out of both ends. We rushed her back to the Vet around 10pm. Thank goodness our Vet is also the E-Vet so it makes things much simpler.
They did an x-ray and you can actually see the 2 blockages (dark white areas) that is believed to be sand.
We keep asking ourselves, how is this possible? They are never out of our sight and are always inside the dog fence. Unfortunately as we all do know, you turn your back for a moment and lot's of things can happen.
They are doing everything for her that they can and we know she is in excellent hands. We are praying for good news this morning. We are praying she doesn't require surgery, we are praying that she will be OK. We are just praying our hearts out right now.....
Lily is a tough girl and we hope she's tough enough to get through this. So on this, her 11th Gotcha Day our celebration has turned to worry.
Please say some prayers for our Lily Belle. She could really use them right now.

Sending lots and lots of POTP. We went through blockages with two of our labs. Both had to have surgery, and they came out of it FINE. One was about Lily's age when he had his surgery. So, I hope that Lily doesn't need surgery but I have confidence that she'll be okay even if she does.
