💖 We are grateful 💖

Today we are grateful.

Grateful for ALL the Responders who gave it their ALL during the devastation of 9/11.

While many lives were tragically lost, there were many who came out to help.

We are grateful for all who came out yesterday to pay their final respects to Rochester, NY Police Officer Daryl Pierson. Officer Pierson was killed in the line of duty last week. Our first Police Officer killed in 50 years. 6,100 people attended his service yesterday. A testament to what a fine young man he was.
Amy Pierson watches as her husband's casket is brought back to the hearse after the service.
He was our "home town" guy. We are grateful that you protected our city. Our hearts are heavy with this great loss.

"8843? 8843? 8843 Daryl Pierson. 8843, Officer Daryl Pierson, end of watch. September 3rd at 22-45 hours."

We are grateful to have had our furend Herbie in our lives. Herbie was a handsome little man who went to the Bridge on September 4th at the age of 16. We met Herbie years ago on Dailydoxie.com and quickly became fast friends with him and his wonderful Mom. He lived on a cattle ranch in Texas and had a totally pawsome life!

Our family will always remember just how special he was to us! Auf wiedersehn Herbie. You will always hold a special place in our hearts.

And today, we are especially grateful for all the Doctor's, Nurses & everyone involved in helping our Daddy get healthy.

We are grateful that late last night, Mommy brought Daddy home.

He's got a long road ahead of him still, but he's in great paws here!

In the end, through ALL the darkness, we focus our energy to see the light. For that we are truly grateful.....

Hugs,
Lily Belle & Muffin

  10. Sad news and wonderful news all rolled into one......So sorry to hear about Officer Pierson and Herbie. Since my human brother is a K-9 officer and Chase is his K-9 partner, we know what an important but frightening job being a police officer can be. Mommy always worries about them. But...the good news is really good. So glad your Daddy is back home again where you girls can take really good care of him.

  11. So thankful that your Daddy Rolf is back home where you girls can help your Mom take care of him. What a special and loving family you have. I am humbled by the fact that you took time for me and the loss of my Herbie when you had so many serious things going on. I so wish I could be of some help to you. Please get some rest and think of herself for a few moments. You are such a loving and giving person but all of us need a little time to relax. All of you are in my prayers and thoughts daily. I am so thankful for the DailyDoxie site that gave Herbie an opportunity to visit with beautiful doxie girls from New York and me the chance to get to know and care for your family.

  12. We are so very happy to hear that your Daddy is home!! Yes, we had heard about the officer ... so very sad. I saw part of the service...one of my FB friends posted the Channel 10 coverage of the funeral. There were many "brothers" in attendance at the funeral. Let's all keep looking for the light. Have a good weekend, my friend!

  13. Lily Belle and Muffin - even though your post began with sad news, I am so glad to hear your Daddy is home for ya'll to care for and love on. I know you two and Mommy are very happy. I will pray that he continues to improve. That is very sad about Herbie. I could tell he was a special little boy just from reading his posts every day on the DailyDoxie. He and his mom always posted on every picture and made the featured dachshund feel important. Have a very good weekend!
