3 Years and VERY thankful

Three years ago today, I Lily Belle underwent surgery for my ruptured cervical disk. IVDD is a horrible disease that affects many of us wiggle butts. Trust me, it is NO fun.

We are all so very thankful that I am here today bringing joy to my family and friends. I'm a lovable little girl (ok, I admit I'm a senior at 10 years of age and turning a little gray) but I'm still as lovable as one can be.

Every night when we say our prayers we always pray for Dr. Starr Cameron and Marina as they healed me and took such excellent care of me during my stay at Cornell Companion Animal Hospital. And let's not forget to say we always thank God for his guiding hands.

My 5" incision under my chin

Mommy's favorite picture from my recovery. Grandpa Bob was put on "Lily watch" and fell asleep on the job.

Becoming an IVDD SURVIVOR, is also the reason Mommy started blogging. She still says she can't believe it's been 3 whole years since she started doing this and that people actually read the shit beautiful words we write! Out of all the heartache that comes with IVDD we've made lifelong friends and for that we are blessed and thankful.

Mommy said that we will celebrate today with a special dinner. I can't wait!

Lily Belle
