Leopards & Fish

I'm sure it was a very wise person who said "A leopard never changes his spots."

And probably the same very wise person who said "After 3 days, guests are like rotting fish ~ They start to stink."

Well, that is one VERY wise person! He's truly hit the nail on the head around here.

We just don't understand how "they" wouldn't want to spend time with Grandpa Bob. He's a very loving Grandpa (sometime's he's a big mac short of a happy meal and does some silly stuff but he IS 88 after all so let's give him a break!)

So far "they" have spent a total of 4 hours with him.

Today "they" won't see him at all. "They" are off to the happiest place on earth (which sure as hell heck ain't this house at the moment).

Mommy knew this was gonna happen. She knew "they" wouldn't watch any of us which is why she cancelled the Key West trip in the first place.

It breaks Mommys heart because Grandpa Bob is sad. He's sad bcuz "they" are not spending time with him.

Heck, they live 3 miles from us when we're in NY and we never see them. So why Grandpa Bob thought it would be different here in FL we don't understand.

Oh, and did I mention they brought their dirty laundry over last night? Yup, it's sitting right on top of the washing machine. Mommy said unless she can shove it up their..... Oh, sorry.... she said it's gonna continue to sit right where it is!

So today, Mommy and Daddy are gonna take Grandpa Bob to the movies. Muffin and I will stay home (Bcuz duh! Dog's can't go to the movies.) Hopefully going to the movies will cheer him up!

Anyone know the name of a good therapist?

Hugs,
Lily Belle

  1. I know the name of two good therapist- Lilly and Muffin. Tell Grandpa Bob that I would love to spend time with him. I mean just look at the dudes smile. That smile just says happy happy. And I love happy. If I am ever in Florida you can count on a visit from me Grandpa Bob. I mean who would spend time with a giant rodent over you?

  2. WE understand completely about peeps and their families! Grandpa Bob can always come over and play with Dad's trains- Snoopy loves being in the train room with Dad! (Your mom could teach WHN how to cook!)

WHN suggests lots of adult beverages to survive the "visit"

  4. That is just mean. We hope grandpa Bob has a great time at the movies. You know the old saying.....what goes around, comes around. High 5 to you all and leave the washing. Have a super Sunday.
    Best wishes Molly

  5. So sad. We hope this intrusion of the meanies passes by very quickly. Obviously your home is a lot happier without them.

Meanwhile tell Mom and Dad and Grandpa Bob to relax and enjoy the movies with a big bag of buttery popcorn.

  6. I'm sorry to hear that things are going as you expected. I hope you are seeing a fun movie so it will cheer everyone up. Maybe you can find a drive-in theater near by so everyone can go sometime.

If it were me I probably would have thrown the laundry in the yard ;-)

I say take deep breaths and keep counting the days/hours/minutes until they depart.

    Much love to all.

  7. Grandpa Bob doesn't need to feel sad, because he has the BEST visitors at all. Who needs a silly "they" when he has a Lily AND a Muffin?

  8. Sorry that Grandpa Bob is sad. THAT is the worst part of this.
When... THEY close their eyes.. they truly MISS the BIG PICTURE... and I'm not talkin the one on the Silver Screen.
Hope they don't FORGET their Dirty Laundry when THEY get ready to head North... Stick to your Plan!!! It is a good one.

  11. I'm sorry :( I hope your movie cheers everyone up! I'm glad you aren't letting yourself get pushed around and sometimes that is the most important thing at the moment. Things will get better! Hope you get a vacation in your future :)

  13. We feel so bad for Grandpa Bob and he's so lucky to have you guys, even when funny things happen around your house. This is NOT the way this week should have happened. We all feel your pain over here. Hopefully your "wonderful" guests will move on soon. Funny how you never see them when you're in NY, but just move to Florida all all these "guests" seem to crawl out of the woodwork.

  14. I can understand your Grandpa Bob is sad.
Lets hope they go away soon so you all can go back to normal again!
Glad you are there to make him feel better.
    Take care

  15. Oh noes we cannot understand such rude and stupid behavior. We are very sorry but you are right about the bad fish.. or in this case stinky dirty laundry...throw it out or put it in a garbage bag. They surely need a lesson in good manners.
Lots of Hugs madi and Mom

  18. Well we thinks that Grandpa Bob is blessed a million times you have you guys and you guys are blessed a trillion times to have Grandpa Bob, even tho he sometimes breaks the rules...BUT in the end when you look back on all the time spent together you will have a billion memories and they will have nothing. Leave the laundry sitting out on the lawn for them.

  21. I am sorry things are not going so good right now. Mommy says she has family like that and thinks they should all rot in...well you get the idea. Grandpa Bob looks like he is very nice. I hope they went to a happy movie.
