Just got off the phone with the Vet about our little Muffin. They had a real hard time pulling her broken tooth. They said that the root was still in really great shape which in turn didn't want to let go of the tooth. They had to do an x-ray on her to be sure they got all of the pieces.
He also said she had a rough time with the anesthesia. Don't ask me what that means because I'm in tears once again and couldn't think straight to ask him. For some reason I'm much stronger when it comes to dealing with sick humans than sick dog's. I just turn to mush when they are sick. Maybe it's because they just don't understand. My heart breaks.....
Muffin is in the ICU where they are monitoring her very closely. The Dr. said he's sitting in there with her. He will let me know around 4:30 if she will stay there or is able to come home tonight.
Lily will be heading back to the Vet's at 4:30 because she has blood in her poop today. I think we're going to be meeting with both their Dr's at the same time. So 4:30 will be a busy time for all of us. So it's either all going to come together then or completely fall apart.
Lily is very quiet today but we're hoping she's just tired. She had a fairly good day yesterday and was really showing signs of improvement. I'm sure it just tired her out. Plus we were up before the sun this morning to drop Muffin off at 7am. We're hoping the blood is from the antibiotics upsetting her GI Tract and nothing more serious.
I'm praying so hard for both my babies right now. All I can think is "unbelievable!"
Our Blogville friends have been so wonderful to us. We've appreciated all your comments and.... suggestions and.... e-mails and.... phone calls and....prayers and....love.
Keep them prayers coming (please), we're not out of the wood quite yet.

Kim darling we are thinking of you and praying everything will be OK with Lily & Muffin. POTP and good vibes coming your way. We hope Lily just has an upset because of the antibiotics. Both Pip & Molly had it recently several times and it was really scary. They both picked up some kind of bug from the park and it kept coming back. We feel for you. Our paws are crossed real tight.

Oh Kim I read this and it just worries my soul for you....of course we will be thinking of you guys much today and sending up prayers for Lily and Muffin. I sure understand what you mean about worrying so much about our fourlegged blessings. Please let us know what you find out.

We heard from Nola's blog that you guys are needing more POTP. I'm so sorry to hear this! Poor Lily and Muffin. It's just one thing after another, isn't it? I hate it when that happens. You just want a break from the bad news and instead, you get more bad news. I'm so sorry. I hope Lily and Muffin heal up quickly and are back to their happy selves soon! Good grief. What days you are having right now. I am sure your emotional resistance is already low with Lily ill and then to have Muffin not have a "routine" surgery...that must feel like SO much. Thinking of you and your pups. I bet this afternoon was exhausting.
