Mommy and Daddy are walking around the house talking to themselves right now. Crazy I tell ya! They keep saying "we believe in miracles" and ours came true today.
Let me start by saying I'm just fine ~ Pawfectly fine! Do you want to shout it from the roof top with me?
Late last night around 10:30pm I perked right up. No more moaping around for me. I was feeling wonderful and said "hey, time to get back to living life." I was a happy go lucky little love bug once again. Mommy and Daddy could not believe their eyes. My spunk was back 100%. Of course they didn't let me go crazy like I wanted to, but Lily Belle was back in action.
This morning the three of us headed to the Vet's. I was first off, NOT happy putting on my harness. I hate that thing. So I ran around the house playing catch me if you can. You can only imagine how happy that made Mommy and Daddy ~ NOT!
After we were so nicely escorted back to the exam room, the Tech tried to bribe me with a cookie. Hey, I was born at night but not last night! You can't fool me. After I left the treat on the floor, she whisked me away to the back room. That's NEVER good, is it! Then she put me on the scale. That wasn't too bad. Of course us girls are always cautious with who sees that number.
Daddy keeping a close eye on his little girl
Then out came the rubber gloves. RUBBER GLOVES?
I told her, hey I'm here for my back not my butt you moron! Well, apparantely she didn't like that so she got even with me and stuck a thermometer right where the sun don't shine. I was gonna let loose a stinky toot but that wouldn't have been too ladylike of me.
Finally I'm back with Mommy and Daddy when the Dr. walks in. After a brief introduction of who we were, he reviewed my medical history with Mommy. He asked where my 2011 surgery was performed and Mommy told him Cornell, in NY. He asked the Dr's name that performed the surgery and Mommy told him. She also told him it was under the guidance of Dr. Curtis Dewey. He was impressed and said he knows Dr. Dewey.
All of a sudden, little Miss Vet Tech whisks me out of Mommys arms and on to the exam table once again. Why didn't they believe me when I told them I was feeling much better thank you and that I should just be going home now. Ugh!
The Dr. grabbed me by the nose and started manipulating my head and neck all around. Mommy was getting very nervous and was holding her breath. Up, down, left, right, sideways and all around it went. Then he felt my entire body all the way from the very top of my head to the end of my tail. Before I even knew what the heck was happening, I was flipped over on my side. I didn't like that at all and I started panting. I thought about biting the guy but ruled that out because he was pretty much on top of me now. Heck buddy, this ain't a hotel!
He pulled out from his pocket one of those little triangular knee whacker thingies and started pounding my knees. Well he really wasn't pounding too hard but he was still pounding them just the same. Every time he did, my little leg would move.
Thump....., sit, stay, stop, don't move, you're a good girl Lily was all I heard when they put me on my other side and did the same thing there.
Then to add insult to injury, they rolled me over on my back! All my lady parts were exposed to the world. Just what is this man thinking?
All I could think about was Mommy. Was she even breathing? Why was her face turning so blue. She really held her breath the entire time I was on the table.
You would all be so proud of me. I didn't cry once! Isn't that pawsome?
The Dr. thinks I was just really sore from the bang into the door and that the medicines helped me heal. He found absolutely, positively nothing wrong with me today. It's a miracle and thank God for that!
He wants to keep me on the Prednisone until Thursday when Mommy will start to wean me off of it. He said if I need the pain killers then I can have one. But I don't think I need them any more. He also said that should the pain flare up again to get in for some acupuncture treatments. I also have to start taking a product called Ventri Disc. That will help to keep my spine lubricated which is most important. Mommy will buy that on line.
While there, we also met with the Dr. who does the acupuncture. We had a very nice conversation and said that nothing needs to be done to me right now. She confirmed that should I have a flare up of pain to bring me in for some treatments. Yeah, like I want a bunch of pins stuck in me! Sounds like pure torture to me.
And on that note, we were outta there.
Mommy said she's going to make sure I take it easy for a while still. She doesn't want anything creeping back up. So I'm going to be good and abide by her rules for a little while longer.
Now I'm gonna take a nice little nap in my new bed.
Glad that stress is over with!
We love you one and all and say thank you again from the bottom of our hearts.
Hugs,
Lily Belle
