Not the way life should be

Hi furends,

Lily Belle here. Im outta bed long enough to give everyone an update on my health.

Thing's are still not going so well. I'm still on the Tramadol and Prednisone and I still am feeling lousy. I even look pathetic. Hard to believe right?

I am not sprinting to the door when someone comes by. Like yesterday, our neighbor had to escort Grandpa Bob home because he snuck out of the house and went to her yard to pick grapefruit from her tree. The he fell flat on his face! She was watching him from her kitchen window (good thing) and ran outside to help him. Imagine the surprise on Mommys face when our neighbor walked in the house with Grandpa. Grandpa just poo-poo's the situation. Poor Mommy, she's got her hands filled with me and MY issues and doesn't need yet another thing to worry about.

I'm just not myself these days and it's weighing heavily on Mommy and Daddys heart. If everyone only knew what was wrong with me, we would all feel better. Unfortunately I can't voice my opinion to anyone (cuz remember, I'm a D-O-G.)

I have a good appetite and I'm pooping and peeing just fine. My back end is no longer shaking. When Mommy touches me, I don't cry or shiver in pain.  I will NOT hop up the step into the house. It's not a full step, but more of a little lip about 2 inches tall. I will stand there until someone picks me up over the hump.

I will only lay on the floor or in my doggie bed when everyone is busy doing other things. Hey, someone other than me has to do the housework around here and cook! Becides, I only know how to prepare kibble. So Mommy pulled out the crock pot and is making yummy beef stew for the weekend. I know that if Muffin and I play our cards right, we'll get some of the beef and carrots.

Speaking of Muffin, she has been such a good little sister and keeps a close eye on me.

Don't let her droopy eyes fool ya! She really is concerned.

Pending no emergency changes over the weekend, Mommy will call and talk to the handsome Dr. O'Sullivan next week. He wants me to stay on the med's for at least a week before proceeding with any more tests.

Mommy and Daddy went out this morning to our local indoor Flea Market. They went to buy some "window clings" to put on the sliding door. They have some really beautiful ones and since Mommy loves hummingbird's and lily's that is the design she picked. It's a large design and should fit nicely on the door. Then so I don't bump into the door ever again, they bought a whole bunch of little ones to put across the bottom of the glass. We don't know how it is going to look when done, but safety is the main concern.

When clinging to the window, it looks like etched glass.

While at the Flea Market, Mommy also bought some beautiful tomato's and some lettuce. However, Mommy didn't buy ANY flea's at the market ~ Whew! It's a great place to shop for produce and other types of stuff and or junk. Here, let me show you...

Daddy is checking out the ol'e time country music CD's. And yes, he has a jacket on. Our temps dropped 20 degrees within an hour yesterday. This morning it was 39F outside.

Then Mommy saw this and just HAD to buy it for Daddy.

It's a solar powered Hula Dancer ~ Way too cute the way she shakes her arms and hips!

OK, time to take another nap now. Hopefully many naps will do the trick!

Thank you everyone for your love and support! Please keep the POTP coming, I need it.

Hugs,
Lily Belle

P.S. Happy Birthday to my sweet little man Newby. I wish I was there to give you a BIG kiss.

  5. Oh, Lily Belle, I am so sorry to know that you are not yourself and possibly having some back problems. I am hoping and praying that your medicines will help out real soon. When my little Oscar (which you are a spitten image of) had to have meds for back troubles, he did ok the first time and then again when he had to take them, the medicine for pain seemed to make him sick. I was just beside myself worrying so I know exactly how your Mom and Dad are feeling. I sure hope that by this weekend you will be doing much better. Just take it real slow for now and rest all you can. I know Muffin will be a good companion. I Also hope that Granpa Bob stays put too.
Well Wishes from Jane and Sambo

  9. Oh Lily, we hope they can get to the bottom of what's ailing you. SHE had to take a tramadol-type of tablet and it made HER very sleepy and woozy. Sometimes the cure is worse than the condition...

Our paws are crossed for you.

  10. I hope you are feeling like your old self soon and bounding up those stairs! Love Dolly xoxox

  11. Dear Lily Belle, Millie is keeping her paws crossed that you feel much better soon. Maybe the reason you don't even want to step up on the little 2" step is because the medicine is making you a bit woozy.

That Grandpa Bob is quite the character. I like Puddles idea of hanging bells on the doors so you know when it is opened. Or you could put a bell around Grandpa Bob's neck! I think the window stickers are a good idea too. I love the hummers and lily decals.

Keep us posted on how you are doing. Be thankful you aren't up north here. We are having a "warm" day of 40 deg. tomorrow and then it will be a deep freeze for the next week with snow every day.

    Love to everyone.

  12. We are so very sorry that you are still feeling so poorly, Lily. Mom says she can sympathize with you because not too long ago she walked right into the glass door at the Apple Store - wowzers, that hurt, she says. We hope you can be better very soon.

  14. My poor BFF! Do you think hydrotherapy could help you? Maybe you can act normal, but are scared of being in pain still. I've heard of that happening. Sending you all my POTP and Doxie healing vibes.

  15. Lily, just keep on getting all the rest you can. That medicine is probably keeping you kind of sleepy. That's what it did to me when I took it. Just keep on eating good and tell you Mommy to try not to worry.

Is that the flea market in Auburndale on Hwy 92? It looks familiar. If it is, it's only about 10 minutes from me.

  16. Lily I am crossing paws for you and I will send another batch of magic bubbles. I hope they help. Maybe you just need to rest for a few days and get all healed inside. I hope you got some stew and I hope it made you feel better. I am glad Muffin is taking good care of you.

  23. Oh, Lily....we worry about you so! Mama was on Tramadol (for pain) and it made her vomit...lots. Since it is a narcotic, it will make you very dopey and lethargic. Which is kinda what you want to do...especially if you are dealing with a back issue.
Sorry to hear about Grandpa....thank dawg he wasn't seriously hurt. We can only dream of pcking grapefruits....waaay too cold here in the great frozen North. Please tell your Mom & Dad that you & your family are in our pawrayers....we know everyone is so worried about you.
    Be well, out little friend....

We are all thinking of you, sending you strong and healing thoughts.

  29. Howdy Lily Belle, hope you are feeling better very soon sweetie pie. Just snuggle and rest ok? We're glad too your mum and dad didn't get any fleas at the market. Much better to bring home good stuff for sure. We love your mum's choice of window decoration. We have similar things on our door cause years ago our angel sissy and brother both walked head first into the door. That was just after mum had washed it and so that's her excuse for leaving it dirty now hehe. Gentle smoochies to you. No worries, and love, Stella and Rory

  30. Hi Sweet Lily Belle; Thinking only good thoughts for your recovery. When I jumped off the bed I was really sore but the Vet could not find nothing bad wrong. I still fall off my ramps so Mom has put pillows aroung the bed, couch and my ramps . I know you will be well real soon. Thank you Muffin for being such a faithful friend to Lily Belle. I will be waiting to hear an update soon. All my doxie kisses and love; Herbie

  31. Yes sometimes when it rains it pours....but I promise the sun will come out again...hang in Kim and Lily! Oh and tell Grandpa Bob I would do the same thing for a Fl grapefruit...well not the falling down part I would hope ...but the sneaking out and into someones yard to get me some...lol. However my luck I would have a pack of dogs trailing behind me giving my sneaky butt away...lol

    ReplyDelete
  32. OH Miss Lilly Belle, I sure hope they can find out what is causing you so much discomfort. And whats with Grandpa Bob, sneaking the grapefruit from the neighbors. I mean, who likes grapefruit anyway?

You just keep taking it easy and I am just gonna keep praying you get all the way better soon.

    Love
    Bert
