We Got Ourselves a Baby

We are so very excited to share this most exciting news with you! We got a baby doxie Oriole and it is cute as a button. We don't know if it's a she or a he but we don't think it really matters bcuz we just love babies. The baby is being taught to feed by its Papa.

Our baby Oriole watching his papa feeding on grape jelly

Here is our Daddy filling the feeders

A few hours later, the little baby started getting brave. He's sat there studying the jelly feeder for quite some time. But in the end, he still was unsure what to make of it all.

To quote the great Scarlett O'Hara from Gone With The Wind:

"Tomorrow I'll think of some way.... after all, tomorrow is another day!

  1. We are wondering if your dad would like to come and fill our feeders, too. You see its 101 (feels like 108) at our house and mom refuses to do anything that doesn't involve staying as close to the central air vents as possible.

    1. Daddy said he'd come and fill your feeders as long as you fill his belly :) We've been staying inside as much as possible too. Way too hot for us doxie's out there. Hope you have a great weekend and stay cool!

  2. Those babies are so funny. Our baby blue birds will sit in the tray feeder with daddy on the side and beg him to feed them. They are sitting on top of all the worms and can just reach down and get some for themselves. I guess it feels better to have your daddy feed you than to have to do it yourself!

Congrats on the baby. It is always great to see them make it.

  3. Aw, at first I thought you named the dog Oriole, and imagine my surprise when I scrolled down and saw a bird. I was confused - how could they not know what sex the dog is? Oh silly me!
