We wish life were all rainbows and sunshine

Hi furends,

Sorry we've not updated everyone on Daddy's surgery but life has hit a rough patch here.

Daddy did really well with his surgery and only had to spend one night in the hospital away from us. He has been sitting on the couch being a good boy and here we are a week later and he feels pawsome! Mommy even took him out last night for St. Patty's Day with some friends. He still can't do any lifting and thinks that folding towels is lifting, so he's really milking this surgery..... Don't worry, Muffin and me got a real close eye on him. Daddy gets his biopsy results next week.

The day that Daddy came home from the hospital (last Wednesday) Mommy got a call from her old boss Michael in NY that their "office dog" Buddy was extremely sick. Michael and Mommy adopted Buddy from a shelter and Buddy lived under Mommy's desk. Buddy became my very first boyfurend and we all loved him to pieces. When I (lily) was 8 months old I went to work one day with Mommy. Buddy gently picked me up in my harness with his teeth and carried me around the office like a purse. He loved me lots and we spent a wonderful 5 years together. Mommy quit her job there after 5 years to take care of Grandma the first time she got sick. Mommy always went to visit Buddy and Buddy still came to sleep at our house a lot. Unfortunately Buddy passed away Wednesday night in the loving arms of Michael. Mommy is thankful that before we moved to FL, she went and spent time with him.

I love you Buddy

Mommy's favorite picture of me and Buddy.

Then on Friday, Mommy receives a call that my best friend Freeda died at 15 years old. Freeda lived next door to us when I was first adopted. She is the reason Mommy and Daddy have Doxie's. They fell in love with her the moment they met her. Those of you who have followed us for a while will probably remember sweet Freeda. We were always together. She was a big part of our family. We spent 11 years living next door to her and when we moved to the big house in NY to accommodate G-Pa Bob, Freeda always came over and hung out with us.

It breaks our hearts to be so very far away when your friends left behind need our hugs the most! We love you Buddy and Freeda and pray you are peace at the Bridge.

And just when you think Mommy's had enough on her plate again....

I, Lily Belle start growing an alien outta my eye lid. So off to see the Vet we go.

I was not a happy camper because he poked and prodded me all over the place. He said it looks like a cyst and that it needs to be surgically removed. I also had to see him about my horrible allergies because my fur is falling out from where the scabs are. We've tried all the medicine we can possibly try and nothing is working. We've tried all types of shampoo, sprays, coconut oil, etc. and I'm still broken out all over the place. So our Vet is going to consult with a canine Dermatologist in Gainesville, FL about me.

So, Mommy is waiting to hear back from the Vet on my skin issues and pricing for my eye surgery.

We are trying to find the light at the end of the tunnel so to speak and sure hope we find it soon. This black cloud has just been lingering over us for about a year now and we're SO DONE!

Hugs,
Lily Belle

  2. We are so sorry for all this sadness in your life. I fink black clouds are becoming the norm up here also, we wish they would blow away to "the land of never to be seen again!" We are glad your dad is on the road to recovery, our dad is now a lazy bum who cannot fold towels or do dishes or do anything, so our mom is tired, and wants to smother him in his sleep, one of us always stands on guard over him at night in case she goes off her rocker. We are so sorry about your friends, we also loved that picture of buddy and you, it is precious. Gussie had one of those red bumps on his lip last year, and had it removed and did fine, yours is in a tough spot though isn't it. We hope you get some answers soon on your skin and eye problem. Thinking of you in all our prayers. stella rose and momma

We're happy to hear your daddy is doing well in his recovery and will keep our paws crossed that he does.

  11. Lily Belle,

Please give your mommy all our love. You've all had so much over this past year.

We are so sorry you lost your furends Buddy and Freeda. Our hearts go out to you.

POTP that your human daddy continues to heal and that your doggy skin (and cyst) can be taken care of soon. My mommy wishes she could make a dinner or some cookies for your mom just to give her some love.

Sending you all lots of love.
    Tootsie & her mom
