Spitting Nails and then some

Mommy's at it again..... She's mad as hell and has been spitting nails recently which is why we've been absent.

Grandpa Bob came home from NY after spending 2 weeks there over the Holiday's. Unfortunately, he came back filled with fluid from the heart failure and wasn't feeling well. Mommy finds it very sad that NOBODY monitored ANYTHING he ate. Food and no exercise is the biggest contributor to his problem. Now Mommy has had to deal with Grandpa Bob having more seizures, dizziness, more confusion, sleepless hours bcuz when he's filled with a lot of fluid, he can't breath and therefore doesn't sleep. It's very hard on his body to get rid of this fluid. It's very unhealthy for him and puts additional pressure on his heart.

It requires multiple trips to the Cardiologist, multiple trips to the blood lab and multiple additional medications. As of today, we are happy to report things are finally getting back in control. But its been very rough convincing the Dr. NOT to hospitalize Grandpa. Mommy and the Dr. are on great terms and he knows that Mommy has her shit together when it comes to Grandpa's health. So he agreed to let Mommy handle it all at home.

Mommy has broad shoulders and handles all of this fairly well, but what she can't tolerate is being told "it's not my fault," "we had nothing to do with it," "oh well." That's what breaks her heart!

Sometimes family sucks, and in our case Mommy said that's the truth! Stinky Fish stink!

There area lot's of nails all over our house so we've been treading lightly.

On a better note, Mommy heard back from my Vet regarding the bladder crystals. Tho it was hard to hear him on the phone (they were sitting in the Cardio office when he called) Mommy had to do another urine catch and report back to the Dr. She was happy to report the urine was clear this time. He said that I have to increase my water intake which makes for a very soupy pile of mush at meal times in my bowl. He said that I had an extreme amount of bacteria which wasn't good. Thanks to the antibiotics the bad germs are gone. I have to see him for a follow up next Friday. She will find out more about the bladder crystals then.

Tomorrow is Daddy's 65th birthday and we plan on giving him lot's of hugs and kisses throughout the entire day. He's been a great help to Mommy these past few weeks and deserves to be snuggled a lot. He's been Mommy's rock!

Mommy was throwing him a surprise dinner here at the house with some friends but because of all that has been going on she had to cancel it for now.

Just in case you furgot how damn cute I am!

So folks, that's the scoop from our end! We've been trying to get around as much as possible and have really enjoyed watching all the recent activities in Blogville.

Hugs,
Lily Belle

  16. Oh my dog, Lily Belle. You are DAMN cute. And your mom is AMAZING. We love her. She shoulders tons, and we love how honest she is about what's happening in your lives. We are so sorry that "family" did not care for Grandpa Bob. That is total suckage. My grandma always said that some family are those people you would meet on the street and have NOTHING TO DO WITH. What pisses off my mom is that you needed a break, but now your break is hardly worth it with all the follow-up to help. Ugh.

So relieved your bladder is okay. I had huge bladder crystals and surgery years ago. It's no fun at all.

Tell your dad HAPPY be-lated BIRTHDAY!

And we hope your mom's health is okay.

And we send lots of love and cuddles to all of you. You're the best.

    Love,
    Tootsie

  20. My dear Lily, Lady and I are so sorry your mommy has to bear all the challenges of caring for an aging parent. We are so happy to hear Grandpa Bob is getting better. And OMD! Crystals in your peepee? That can't be good. Hope you get a good check up. Your mommy's plate is full. But Mommy will be able to stand before her maker with a clear conscience that she did what she could to care for the one who gave her life. ANd when Grandpa Bob goes to meet Jesus, Mommy will be so thankful for all the time she got to spend with him on this earth.
Extra Licks for you and Mommy,
    Your Marley
