UPDATE FROM MOMMY:
Lily was NOT a happy camper today seeing the V-E-T. They took a urine sample from her and the urine was very cloudy and blood tinged. They also did an ultrasound on her bladder.
The mass circled in the ultrasound is believed to be bladder stones. The V-E-T does not believe it is a cancerous mass. The urine sample will be sent to their lab for analysis and we should have some results in about 5 days. Hopefully the analysis will determine what type of stones they are. Typically there are 2 type. One type can be treated through a special diet (which I understand is higher in salt) and that would make Lily drink more and urinate more to get the stones out. The other type of stone requires surgical removal. In the meantime, Lily is on antibiotics and we need to get creative to get her to drink more.
Now we sit and wait with worry!
Hugs,
Kim
I thought we'd escape needing any more Power of the Paw this year, butt apparently not!
I believe that Lily has a bad UTI. Last night and all day today, she's been trying to pee like crazy. Unfortunately not too much is coming out of her. When I just tried to catch some of it in a cup for the V-E-T, I caught a drop and there was blood in it.
We are off to see the V-E-T in an hour, so please keep Lily in your prayers that she will be alright and be able to come back home with us today. I remember the UTI she had 2 years ago that turned bad VERY quickly and almost did her in.
She is one of our GREATEST blessings.
Hugs,
Kim
