I Love NY

We really do love NY and the home we have here. But friends, with weather like this we decided it's time to be heading south.

The temperature here is frigid beyond belief and thankfully not too much snow here at our house. But did you hear about the BIG snow in Buffalo, NY? Don't think you could miss it as it's all over the national news. Buffalo is only an hour from our house and is on the route we drive. We are praying that they open the roads by Saturday. Otherwise, we'll have to take the longer route to Florida.

The only one's who like it outside are these dudes.

Daddy is doing GREAT and the Doctor gave him the go-ahead to get out of town. He will remain on med's for at least another 6 months but he can deal with that.

Mommy is on new medicine for her Lymphocytic Colitis and her body is tolerating it well according to the blood work. She still has a lot of "issues", so she packed a special bag for the car filled with toilet paper and baby wipes. (TMI??) She said she's going to see if bears really do poop in the woods. The route we take doesn't have a lot of bathrooms along the way in many of the states, so she's prepared. I guess, as prepared as one can be! Mommy hasn't had to "pop a squat" in a long time, so Daddy is on call to do any forest rescues as needed. This is gonna be a long, long ride!

Grandpa Bob will be staying with his son for a few days here in NY and then they will both fly to Florida together. Bob will head out to Spain the following day on business. Mom will then fly back to NY in December with Grandpa Bob so he can spend Christmas here with Bob and family. Mommy will fly back the following day to Florida to spend Christmas with Daddy and us. Hopefully the weather will cooperate and she'll not run into any weather problems. Right after New Years, Bob and Grandpa Bob will fly back to Florida and Bob may stay a few days visiting us. It's going to be a lot of flying around for all of them.

Grandpa Bob had a FANTASTIC 90th Birthday! He really enjoyed all of YOUR birthday greetings too. Yes, that's his breakfast waffle on his big day.

We all stopped up to see Omi (Daddy's Mommy) who suffers from full fledged Dementia. We gave her lot's of love and kisses and said auf wiedersehen (see you later in German.) We NEVER say good bye! It's very sad because she didn't even know we were there. But... that doesn't stop us from spreading smiles at the Home.

Of course, Mommy has been busy as heck this past week trying to get everything organized and arranged to get out of here. Actually, since she's not feeling well, and the guy's are still sitting on their butts, she's been a tad crabby. Mommy shakes her head and will never understand WHY they wait until the last minute to do everything. It drives her crazy. Men!

Stay well friends and we'll be checking in from Florida once we get there. Keep smiling, keep loving each other and please keep praying for those who need our prayers.

Hugs,
Lily Belle & Muffin

  9. Howdy Mates. Good luck with all the travel. Keep safe and hope your mum finds some toilets too! The photo of your Omi's hands made our mum tear up cause it reminded her of her own dear sweet mum. It will be five years tomorrow since she passed. Take care and see you in Florida. No worries, and love, Stella and Rory
