Nope, ain't gonna do it!

I just decided that I'm not answering the phone anymore! It's NEVER good news when it rings very early in the morning. Nope, just ain't gonna answer it at all.....

Got the call from Rolf early this morning. The AFib is still happening. Sometime this morning they will take him back, knock him out and stick a tube down his throat and check the heart and lungs for blood clots. (That's the non-technical description.)

If there are NO clot's found, they will then try to Cardiovert his heart. In other words, they will shock the heart to see if they can get it back to a normal rhythm.

They also removed the catheter yesterday morning. He was not able to pee on his own so back in it went! He also (for some reason) can't seem to fart yet. For him that's unusual - Tee~Hee~Hee....

My sweet, sweet hubby is suffering and is miserable. It breaks my heart to have all this happen to him. I know he's in a great hospital, but it doesn't make it any easier. I'm extremely worried!

Grandpa Bob will come with me to the hospital. I unfortunately have no one to watch him today. Lily and Muffin will be home alone all day. At this moment, I have no one to let them out. Guess we're all gonna have to put on our BIG GIRL PANTIES TODAY and SUCK IT UP!

I'll update when I can.

We ALL really appreciate the good thoughts and prayers.

Hugs,
Kim

  1. Mom Kim here – yep, it’s those early mornin’or sometimes middle of the nite phone calls that get you. And you don’t want to leave the hospital once you are there because you worry something may happen before you get back – yep, been there-done that too many times. Wish I was closer so I could not just be with you at the hospital but I could go check on Lily and Muffin and take care of them for you or I could stay at your place and watch both them and Grandpa Bob. I am also familiar with that feeling like you are by yourself in this and all that other life stuff is hitting you from different directions.

Just know that I am thinking of you, praying for you both and those cyber hugs are constant. The B-bratz send their POTP too.

  2. OH Kim we so wish we could run over and help you as I am sure all your blogville friends do. I wanted to share with you that my Dad also had the cardioinvert done and of everything that he has had over the past few years, that was the easiest procedure on him!! It was scary for us to think of how they had to do it, but he flew right through it. He even has a pacemaker and for some reason his heart went into Afib also. But once they did that, it stopped it. He was up and going right after the procedure, which I know Rolf has other things going on also, but I just wanted you to know that.
I wish there was someone else to help with Grandpa Bob, and I imagine also he is pretty worried. Thank you for taking the time to let us know what is going on. We all appreciate it so much.

  5. The doggies understand that you gotta be with your husband, just leave a pee pad on the floor and hope most of it ends up on the pad. When us dogs were puppies, we never got our aim right -- we always got pee on the corner of the pad and the rest of the potty ended up on the floor. At least we tried.

  24. My husband had a lot of bladder and bowel problems in the hospital and it took a while to get it better, but it did get better. I think sometimes between surgery and all the meds they are on, it causes problems in other areas. I know how hard it is to have him there and my heart goes out to you. I wish I could help you in some way. I am praying for all of you.
