Slow and steady goes the race

Just a quick update while Mommy and I have a few minutes.

Mommy spent all day Saturday in the ER with Grandpa Bob. They ran a whole bunch of tests and found out nothing new (that Mommy didn't already tell them.)

They did increase the dosage of his water pill. We got home around 8pm. There was nothing more they could do for him at that point. If the swelling increases we were to bring him back to the ER.

They did see the NY Cardiologist on Tuesday, just 3 days before. Mommy had already mailed him from Florida all the hospital and doctor's reports that he would need for seeing Grandpa Bob. He agreed that Grandpa Bob needs a new aortic heart valve; providing he is a surgical candidate.

Grandpa Bob, BTW, had a GREAT 4th! I think he should have entered the Nathan's hot dog eating competition. He probably could have won. Tube steaks RULE!

This is how close they all sat to the explosives. Are they CRAZY or what??

This morning, they went to see Grandpa Bobs primary doctor. The swelling in the leg's has been increasing and today the fluid retention is around 15 pounds. So the doctor put him on yet another additional (and stronger) water pill to be taken 3 days a week. Poor Grandpa Bob! He's gonna have to be walked multiple times a day bcuz he's gonna be peeing a lot! At least he'll get out to sniff all that pee-mail. Tee~Hee~Hee.

Mommy took him grocery shopping after the appointment. It's a great way to get him to move around and get some exercise. Butt, it's a horrible experience bcuz he wants to buy everything in sight! He's supposed to be on a low sodium, heart healthy diet. Mommy sure doesn't know how to cook like that!! If anyone has ANY good recipes please let us know.

Late this afternoon, Mommy got the phone call from the Heart Surgical Center. Grandpa Bob has been moved up on the list for an appointment due to his poor condition. Mommy spent over an hour on the phone with the Coordinator reviewing all the events over the past 7 months. The nice Coordinator lady should be calling back this week with an appointment date. They will be meeting with 2 heart surgeon's and 1 cardiologist. Mommy will have to tell the stories all over again. They will decide what testing has to be done on Grandpa Bob. We do know that another Echo will be done next week. It will also entail a trip to the Cath Lab in the near future. Other than that, we don't know what else they will want to run until our meeting. They also want to look at some of the video Mommy has of what happens to Grandpa Bob when he has his seizures.

Grandpa Bob has 5 more appointments in the next week and a half (as of now.)

In case you were wondering..... Grandpa Bob is a VERY smart man. Remember that alarm that Mommy installed on his door? Well, let me quote Mommy here: "That bastard figured out how to duck past the alarm." Guess that's what happens when you're an Engineer by trade. Holy cheese and crackers, back to square one.

In-between all of this, Mommy has still been picking weeds like crazy and cutting down dead branches. Nope, still not unpacked yet. Poor thing has been non stop.
Daddy has been painting our deck.
I, Lily Belle, have been a very strict Supervisor and keeping Daddy on schedule.    Just look at my eyes. I mean business! Get a move on Daddy.

We can't thank you all enough for ALL of your love & support! We've received phone calls, texts, prezzies, e-mails, cards, prayers and 87 million loving and funny comments. Grandpa Bob appreciates it all.

Mommy said her heart is full with YOUR love!

Hugs,
Lily Belle & Muffin
