Out of Patience

Please excuse us for a little bit while we experience technical family difficulties on our end.

Mommy's brother the idiot who jumps outta airplanes is coming to town Friday with his family and it is causing Mommy a lot of grief. It was supposed to be a good thing because they were going to watch after Grandpa Bob and Muffin and me while Mommy and Daddy went on a nice vacation to Key West.

That was until.... one of them slipped up in the conversation and mentioned they were going to either put us in a kennel or leave us home alone with Grandpa Bob while they went out every day and had fun. That pushed Mommy right over the edge.

Mommy said that their idea of "taking care" of someone and her idea of "taking care" of someone are on opposite ends of the spectrum. Needless to say, Mommy cancelled all her vacation plans. She knew it was the only way to keep the three of us safe! Can you say "not happy?"

Mommy now has to go clean a friends house (that hasn't been lived in for over a year) so that her Brother and family have a place to stay while they are here. Ugh.......

Anywho, Mommy assures us that we will be checking our furends blog's as often as possible while she stresses out.

In the meantime, you can come back here and look at our beautiful faces so you don't furget us!

On a happier note, Muffins boyfurend Snoopy from The Dachsies with Moxie is going to become a permanent member of DWM household. Snoopy's Mama (aka WHN) is going to be holding a raffle to help pay for his adoption fee's. She is an amazing and talented quilter and is going to be auctioning off one of her beautiful creations. Tickets will be available on their blog starting March 1st. So please be sure to buy many tickets so that our much loved Snoopy can stay with his family. After all, you don't want to break little Muffins heart!

See you all soon! Oh yeah, if you have any spare 'patience' to share, please send it our way. Mommy could sure use it right about now.

Hugs,
Lily Belle

  1. I will give you some of my MOM's patience. And Grrrrr to the brother. I am glad they let it slip what they planned. Can you imagine your mom when she got back from vacation and found out?!!! You will not be forgotten, no way. And I think that the brother should clean up the house if he is going to stay there and "have fun". I guess you can tell I don't have as much patience as my MOM. I hope you have a wonderful Sunday anyway.
    Blessings,
    Goose

  2. Oh Kim I'm sorry to hear your vacation plans have been ruined. Brother's can really be pains in the ass. I know from personal experience. You of course always have your priorities in the proper order and will keep your loved one's safe. I agree with Goose that the brother and his family should clean the house. Just put a bucket of cleaning supplies inside the front door so they can see it when they arrive! LOL!

On a happier note...did you see my post about Pip & Puddles' visit to Rochester? You might be surprised by their last stop on the tour.

    Love,

    Cindy & Millie

  10. Oh No! This is terrible. I can really feel your Mommy's pain having to cancel her vacation. This just isn't right! The two of you can probably sneak into Mommy's suitcase and go along on their vacation but it would be hard to sneak Grandpa Bob into a suitcase. How about a trunk?

Your Mommy and my Mommy really need to get together soon.

  16. I know exactly what you are talking about..I have 4 dogs and don't trust ANYONE to stay with them and would NEVER leave them boarded somewhere. Sorry but they are my BEST friends and are family and they are more Loyal than anyone I know. They depend on me and I will never let them down. If we go on any kind of vacation or even for a ride they all go with :) Your doggies have very very sweet faces and I can see why you feel like that :)

  18. I know, I know. My Mommy also had visiting relative problems this weekend. Everybody knows that me and/or Malibu go with Mommy wherever she goes. Mommy even suggested doggie friendly outings with the visiting relatives, but they wouldn't agree. Apparently they treat their dog, well, like a dog. But, Mommy treats us like the intelligent, gentile creatives that we are.... We need extra love and care!! Freddy, the wiener dog.

  22. Who could enjoy their holiday if you guys weren't being looked after properly? My doggie goes to stay with our dog walker when we can't bring her on holiday. She really loves her time with Uncle Martin and I have to say that he does a better job of looking after her than our family would!

  23. Oh no! I'm sorry you can't enjoy your vacation :( I'm sure looking at those happy dachshund faces will make it all worth it! It sounds like you are standing up for yourself and setting boundaries which is the most important thing. Stay strong and stress free!!

  28. Boy, did I pick an interesting time to come over for a visit! I'm so sorry the vacation was messed up. Key West sounds so interesting. I hope you can go later. I would be so MAD if I thought someone were watching my pups and they put them in a kennel! I'm so glad you found out. Family! Well...other than that, I hope that's the worst of it.
