OK, let's see a raise of paws.... Who knows what Hump Day means? Pay attention, I'm asking a question here.... Get those paws up in the air!
The Urban Dictionary defines it this way: The middle of a work week (Wednesday); used in the context of climbing a proverbial hill to get through a tough week.
If that's what you guessed, well I'm gonna tell you.... you're only partially correct. What???? you say!
Here at our house (and I can't believe I'm gonna give up this dirty little secret) every day is Hump Day. You see, we're having a
Muffin here. You want a slap of crazy Lily, well here it is. Pry your eyes open with toothpicks and look at this picture for 5 minutes... Now THAT's crazy!
You bet I'm giving you the stink eye Lily. Thanks for airing our dirty laundry in Blogville!
Oh Muffin, get outta here. Go hump a chair leg or something would ya!
Anyways, the past month or so Muffin has been humping Mommy's leg like crazy. Everytime Mommy sits on the couch Muffin hops right up and starts going to town.
We got photo evidence too. Here, let me show you what I mean....... Here is Mommy on her laptop typing:
Notice how blurry this picture is, we have Muffin to thank for that! Hump, hump, hump and everything shakes. Mommy said it's like being on a bumpy roller coaster or like driving down an old country back road.
Mommy took this after screaming Muffins name. She stopped humping long enough to peek her head around. Instead of having that "yes Mommy did you want me" look, I say she should be hanging her head in shame.
Now that I've outted my sister Muffin and the "skelton in HER closet" and
What the DOG should we do about it?
Hugs,
Lily Belle
Muffin here: Thanks a whole bunch Sis!
Oh my dog, my eyeballs is goin' all KERAZY nows. Nows, I really does hate more than anything to laughs at dis siuation you has on your paw...or leg...whatevers da case may be. Howevers, I wouldnt really worry bouts Muffin's humpin'...could be just a phase, could be cuz perhaps her was spayed later than a puppy.
ReplyDeleteBut I think I will has dat song in my head all day...
Almost heaven, West Virginia
Blue Ridge Mountains
Shenandoah River -
Life is old there
Older than the trees
Younger than the mountains
Growin' like a breeze
Country Roads, take me home
To the place I belong
West Virginia, mountain momma
Take me home, country roads...lalalalalala!
My mum soooooo ain't bringin a dam kitteh heres...heck no...no way jose.
Puddles
Oh we love Johnny Humpin' Denver! I bet he had a d-o-g when he wrote that song!
DeleteOH noes Lily...we don't mean to laugh at Muffin's issues but way back when Toto our mighty mini lived her Mom said he was absolutely horrible about humping but only with one person our neighbor's son. We could never figure it out either...eventually he quit..Maybe Muffin needs a refresher course in Charm School.
ReplyDeleteJust to make Muffin feel better I'll air one of my deep dark secrets!!!!
I love to lick the rim of Mom and Dad's coffee mugs when they are looking. Sometimes I get caught red tongued.
Hugs madi
It's OK Madi & Mom, you can laugh it you want to. But what got us laughing here was your comment about Muffing going to Charm School. Now, THAT'S funny!
DeleteLet me ponder the coffee issue here a minute.... Well maybe that's the reason for our little problem over here. Muffin's drinking the coffee, the caffeine is making her goofy and she thinks Mommy is a Pirate with a wooden leg. Yup, I think that's gotta be it!
Uh. Well. This was certainly not G rated today.
ReplyDeleteNow I need to go answer some questions I've not wanted to be asked.
:D
Shelle, Milo, Dixie and Newby,
http://simpaticodreams.blogspot.com/
You guys just crack us up over here. That video & song was so funny that even Daddy was snorting! Muffin is sooo embarassed by this whole debacle that she's been yorking up all morning. So on behalf of Muffin let me say, we are totally honored to have a special post on your blog this afternoon.
DeleteHugs,
Lily Belle
Sorry we laughed so hard at Muffins' antics. You must do a post on the best answers. Have a wonderful Wednesday.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Molly
Oh Molly, what's a girl to do..... Sometimes we just gotta come outta the dog house!
DeleteOh Muffin, happy humping. Finn started humping my hubby's leg (picked it up at the dog park, we think). We just ignored it and she stopped. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteOMD Finn, you did the same thing to your Daddy? Whew, I feel much better to know I'm NOT alone! I sometimes think I'm a conductor pushing the Mommy train to the station....
DeleteHugs,
Muffin
That psychedelic picture just gave me a head ache. Sorry I don't have any answers as to how to curb Muffins appetite for mommy's leg. I guess mommy should learn to enjoy the massage! LOL
ReplyDeleteCindy
Great idea Cindy! We're gonna send Muffin over to your house to be your own personal massage therapist! And the best part is..... We won't charge you :0
DeleteKim
Good luck friend!
ReplyDeleteThanks mucho!

Thanks for sticking up for me Frankie! You're just the best furend.
DeleteOh, that would make an excellent Olympic Event for next year. I like that idea quite a bit as a matter of fact.
Hugs,
Muffin
p.s Mommy wishes it was only a FEW hunch hugs, but once I start......
BOL BOL BOL what are sisters for if not to embarrass you? Here's one on me, and I'm only tell ya cuz you're my BFF: I like humping Auggie. His face. And when I was a baby I humped my 5 foot long snake (gosh, didn't mean for it to come out sounding like THAT!) BOL
ReplyDeleteLove ya lots
Nola
Oh how well we remember that embarassing thing about you Nola. Did you know that your Mommy even posted a picture of you doing it? We were covering our eyes with our paws when we saw that! Butt... Now that my dirty little secret is out (and obviously, I'm NOT the ONLY one to be doing it), I think we Humpers should UNITE and start our own Club.
DeleteI know we can count on your support!
Hugs,
Muffin
Muffin, you know what they say about payback. Just wait for the right opportunity.
ReplyDeleteWoos - The OP Pack
You got that right! I've got a dirty little secret about Lily and some day real soon when Mommy's not around, I'm gonna blog all about it too.

ReplyDeletePuddles
Is Muffin showing dominance toward Mommy? We agree...Muffin needs charm school.
ReplyDeleteNow we are dizzy
ReplyDeleteBenny & Lily
Oh. My human Gail sent me over to read this, saying "Look Bertie, even girl dogs hump sometimes, how come you have never ever shown any interest in that sort of activity my wee chappie?I mean its not as if you've had your bits chopped off or anything..."
ReplyDeleteToodle pip!
Bertie (a bit bemused, and not in any position to offer advice).
Hi Lily:

Stella Rose
Howdy Lily Belle and Muffin, hehehehe, what a crack up. You had us all laughing this morning. Sorry Muffin, but you is funny for sure. Mum sure hopes Rory doesn't decide to copy your funny antics. See ya mates. No worries, and love, Stella and Rory
ReplyDeleteThat picture is crazy!! We dont have any advice for ya, as I have never done this. Your mommy is patient though.
ReplyDeletewags
Jazzi
Woof to you Lily Belle & Muffin!!!! While I have triumphed in the face of and persevered through many behavioral issues, I have no personal experience with this particular one. My assistant seems to think a consult with a professional behaviorist (vs. a trainer) might do the trick (at least that's what helped me with my separation anxiety). Much love to you both - XXOO - Mazzoe
