Tuesday's Adventures

Happy Tuesday! Today we set out on an adventure. It all started when Mommy had to go pay the lady at the Town Hall for my dog license. I still don't understand why I gotta have a license bcuz nobody let's me drive!  And if you seriously think about it, I think I'm a little too short to see over the steering wheel. So Muffin and I stayed in the van with Daddy while Mommy ran into the building.

While Mommy was in the Town Hall, she also was on a very impawtant mission. You see, our friend Miss Cindy from http://birdbrainsanddogtales.wordpress.com/ who lives right around the corner from us is a very accomplished quilter! She and the other women from the quilting club made a beautiful quilt for the Bicentennial of the town of Perinton (where we live). Mommy had to go see it for herself and was totally impressed!

Mommy wanted to sneak me in the door so we could have our picture taken in front of the quilt; at least that was her original plan. But you know what they say about the 'best laid plans of mice and men." The quilt is hanging on the wall right smack dab in front of the receptionist! There is no way that Mommy is gonna be able to sneak me in the FRONT door with ol'e eagle eye watching every move she made... Mommy has now gotta dream up a new plan.

These are the two panels that Miss Cindy quilted. The top one is of a beautiful church in our town. The second panel she did (and I'm sorry the pic's are so cruddy) is of The Fish Hatchery at Powder Mills Park.

You really should check out Miss Cindy's story on this quilt. Just clickie here and in an instant you'll be there. http://birdbrainsanddogtales.wordpress.com/2012/06/20/perinton-quilt-guild/

But let me warn you! You better put on your seat belt bcuz her quilting talents will blow you away!

Some other interesting facts about Miss Cindy:
She has a beautiful canine girl named Nina
She loves to garden in her big yard with her husband Charlie
She is personal friends with WHN and the gang from the Dachsies with Moxie! http://dachsieswithmoxie.blogspot.com/

It really is a small world! You just never know who knows who knows who!

Mommy and Daddy hope to meet up with Miss Cindy and Mr Charlie this Thursday at a HUGE event taking place right in our very own town. You will just have to wait until then to read all about it.

Anyways, this is what Mommy saw when she came out of the Town Hall.

I perked right up once I saw Mommy walking towards me! Guess Daddy was happy to see her too :) Don't ask about Muffin; I think she was snoozing and just woke up bcuz Mommy was gone for like 87 seconds.

I'm gonna tell you where we went next, but I will put that in a separate post.

Hugs,
Lily Belle

  1. You two girls are so cute waiting in the car with your daddy.

Glad you found the quilt. Not that it is hard to find. Maybe if you had one of those canine strollers the girls could be in there and the receptionist might just think you are bringing a child in to the rec center. You could also have your husband distract the receptionist while you park the stroller next to the quilt and snap a picture real quick.

Thanks for the kind words about my quilting and the guild. Looking forward to Thursday.

  4. OK Lily Belle now see this it the Pawblem with when the Peeps are put in charge of the Thinkin and Planning... If YOU had been allowed to plan the outing... you would NEVER have gone on a day when the Eagle Eyed Receptionist was on duty... everybuddy KNOWs that THEY would not let one of us go in... YOU however would have gone on a day when the BEAGLE Eyed one was working and you would have been in like Flynn!!

the city by laws says we're supposed to (shh!!) But we don't cause anyone any trouble & there really isn;t
    a dog license inspector!!

  11. LILY BELLE- STAY AWAY FROM AUNT CINDY"S BAGS!!!! She adores us little black and tan girls and WHN and Dad caught her trying to smuggle Tasha home! Does your Mom know how to do a strip search- it might be necessary! Tasha is always trying to run away to see her, so if a little stray dachsies shows up, wearign a harness like yours, you know she made it!
