What's Up

Here's a little catch up on what we've been doing...

Mommy and Daddy are still slowly working on the remainder of the house repairs. They put up new house numbers on the Muffin Mailbox. The new numbers will reflect in the dark. Hope these last longer than 6 months. The Florida sun is a killer on these things. With Grandpa Bob getting older (88), it's impawtant for people to be able to find our house in case of an emergency.

Mommy made turkey noodle soup the other day and yum, yum, yum... We've been getting a little bit of turkey and some veggies in our dinners. It's a very hearty soup filled with all good things.

Muffin and I love going for our rides in the golf cart. Mommy took us out on it alone and we behaved ourselves. We both stayed in our bed on the front seat. Mommy harnessed us in so there was no chance of us either falling or jumping out.

Did you see that Squirrel?

The Sand Cranes still come by every day for some bird chow. Muffin and I see them and run outside and bark at them. They start to fly when we scare them. See his big wings flapping in the breeze?

On Sunday, Daddy took Grandpa Bob to the Tampa Bay Buc's football game. Tampa Bay lost by one point.

They both had a fantastic time ~ well, sort of. They ate some shhhhh.....(hot dog's) and drank some beer. It was just us girls home alone and we loved it! (That doesn't happen often.)

The sort of part is this ~ Daddy told Grandpa Bob to STAY PUT AND DON'T MOVE AN INCH so he could take the shuttle to the van then go back and pick up Grandpa Bob at the stadium exit. Well, Grandpa Bob got on a different shuttle and both got separated. Grandpa Bob called Mommy and was a bit in a panic when he couldn't find my Daddy. Then Daddy calls on the house phone and is ^%#))$Q(#$%)@#_@#$%$^&* at Mommy because Grandpa Bob didn't stay put. Like that's gonna help the situation!

So Daddy had to wait for the parking lot to clear in order to find him. Daddy was NOT happy (and we really can't blame him.) All we can say is "Hey, you offered to take him!" (It does upset Mommy because it's hard for her to see these changes in Grandpa Bob.) Pretty soon she's gonna have to pin his name and home phone number on his sweater. Plus he lost his eyeglasses somewhere at the stadium. (Oh, and did we mention he broke a tooth the day before?)

Sunday was also a very special day. Mommy's favorite Florida bird, the Painted Bunting arrived at our feeders this morning. They are in the process of migrating to the Carolina's. In years past, Mommy has attracted them to our yard and they have stayed here for the season. We're hoping that happens again.

These photo's are untouched. Now can you see why this is her favorite? This is the male, isn't be handsome!

We've been enjoying a lot of time outdoors in the beautiful Florida sun. It's been in the 70's here (I know, blah, blah, blah....) so it's not too hot for those of us with fur.

Daddy went and washed the van the other day at the car wash. He keeps saying "a Delta Sonic would be perfect for here." (Delta Sonic is our wonderful car wash where we live in NY. They do it all for you and for a very reasonable price.) We normally do it at home, but there are a lot of dead bugs on the van and we needed the power sprayer.

This is why we always check to see what Grandpa Bob is wearing before being let out of the house. Mommy took one look and said "really Dad?"

And who doesn't love a man who drinks his milk outta a Bud glass! (Sorry Puddles...)

Well that's it for now furends. On to our next adventure!

Hugs,
Lily Belle & Muffin

  1. Thanks for the update! Your golf cart is sorta like my auto rickshaw! It's a three-wheeler. Weather looks great. Hey for your grandpa, go to http://www.sportstagid.com/ My grandpa AND my uncle wear one. My uncle has diabetes and rides bikes. My grandpa walks on the beach alone. The id bracelets are soft and comfortable. The athletes wear them. My grandma feels better now that grandpa wears the id.

  6. So what was so wrong with Grandpa Bob's fashion choices? My dad has a similar fashion sense except he has socks in every color of the rainbow so he always coordinates.

Those cranes are huge and look like they could make off with you girls so be careful. I love your new ride. You look so comfy in your bed on the seat.

Thanks for the update. Still no real snow up here yet.

  8. Wow what an update. Glad Grandpa was OK. I would really like to ride in a golf cart. But if I saw a squirrel I would be off it in a second and like a lighting bolt after the intruder.

OMDs you have been busy as honey bees on a hive. Jumpin' Catfish...I love love love your golfcart seat.
We totally understand about Grandpa we have similar issues here with my grandpeeps. They don't like
being losing their independence and don't realize what we do is for their good.

Mom has a favor to ask...please give the painted bunting our address. We'd love to have him visit here.
We've seen a blue bunting but I expect the painted bunting heads toward our NC Coast rather than the Piedmont.
Hugs and Cheers to Grandpa and his Dairy beer

  11. That golf cart ride sounds like a lot of fun. Mom loves to make a big pot of turkey soup, but this year she did turkey breasts. So there really wasn't a lot of good bones and tidbits of turkey to make it work. Yours sure looks yummy.

Hard when the grandparents start getting forgetful. We are just happy that this story had a happy ending.

  13. Boy you guys have had some fun times even with the Grandpa Bob upset. We went through these same changes when my Dad lived here. He would call me in a panic lots of times as he'd forget where he was. It is very hard to watch indeed. I love the pics of the sand cranes!

  18. Golf Cart rides and pretty bird wonderful ~ Grandpa Bob story not so wonderful! Bawheheee Lee is laughing because her mother before she died called her from the city and said they had moved the BIG bank building then got on a bus that was not local ~ Lee ended up chasing it as it left our city to get mom back. Till this very day she asks herself why did she chase that bus.
    Thanks for being a friend

  19. I have never been on a golf cart, that looks like fun. Florida seems like a fun place to be, I hope I can go someday. We are sorry about Grandpa Bob, Mommy says she understands that it is hard to watch someone change so much. I will cross paws that he doesn't get lost again.

  20. Ooo Mom made egg noodle turkey soup with our leftover carcass too! (Yap, we found one on sale - 59 cents a pound! - and had that instead of stuffed dove ;)
Sorry Granpa got separated from your Dad. Maybe he could get some day-glo green socks to make him easier to see :) Your Mom wouldn't let my Mom out of the house with a lot of the stuff she wears either - your Granpa and my Mom must have gone to the same fashion school Hardy Har Har - gotta luv em anyway though eh? ;)
I showed Mom your painted bunting - she LUVs them too! We've never had the painted one visit our yard - we did have an indigo bunting visit one year though - gorgeous! :D

    Waggin at ya,
